Preparation
• Wash and dry hands; gently cleanse the scar and surrounding area with mild soap before application. Ensure that the scar and surrounding skin are clean and dry.
• Remove the Avogel sheet from the foil pouch by pulling apart the layers from the top right corners of the foil pouch.
• Unfold the white protective sheet and let it serve as your work area.
Sizing
• With scissors, trim the Avogel to the size of the scar, allowing at least one inch of the sheet to extend beyond the scar.
• Peel the blue plastic backing off the Avogel. Save the plastic backing for storing Avogel after use.
Application
• Gently press the adhesive side of the Avogel over the scar so it fits firmly over the contours of the scar. Make sure the edges of the Avogel extend one inch beyond the scar border. Netting, gauze, cloth bandages, stretch or pressure garments may be worn over the Avogel to keep it in place.
• Placed the unused portion of the Avogel back into the foil pouch and store it in the re-sealable bag provided. Store it at room temperature.
